Kennesaw State University
2021-2023
These projects and writing samples, completed during my public relations coursework from 2021 to 2023, highlight how my skills and perspective developed throughout my education. They showcase not only the assignments themselves but also the growth of my my strategic thinking, writing and creative approach.

Media Relations - 2023
Taking my media relations class gave me a real appreciation for how the media works. I learned not just how to build relationships with journalists and craft effective pitches, but also the value of being proactive, understanding a journalist’s interests and following up thoughtfully. The skills I developed in this class directly helped me land media placements in later roles, making the experience both practical and transformative.
Crisis Communications - 2022
As the communications director of my group, I led the development of a crisis communication plan for a food tampering scenario at the Commons, Kennesaw State University's dining hall. Beyond my written contributions, I strengthened my project management skills by assigning tasks, managing deadlines, and editing the overall plan. This experience also prepared me for the real-world crisis plan meetings I participated in during my internship at Comcast, giving me firsthand insight into coordinating responses under pressure.
Public Relations Writing - 2022
During the fall semester, I worked on a variety of writing projects essential for campaigns, press engagement, and events. Each assignment helped me sharpen my skills in AP style and in crafting clear, concise messages for different audiences. This coursework became invaluable during my internships, especially at Comcast, where I tackled writing across a variety of media and platforms and learned to adapt quickly to different communication challenges under tight deadlines.
Persuasion Methods & Strategies - 2021
One of my earliest PR-specific projects involved analyzing the Spotify Wrapped campaign and proposing persuasive messaging to enhance its reach. I created example elements for each strategy and connected them to the underlying persuasive theories. The lessons I learned in this course became a foundation for later experiences which then helped me develop ideas for the student-run agency, pitch promotional events and craft compelling messaging and presentations during my work at Page Society and Comcast.
